LineCo*Star allows for the development of presentation layers that can be snapped in without modifying source code from the original legacy application. The Auto-GUI presentation layer allows customer fonts and colors, sculptured boxes, graphic linedraw, toolbars, and hotspots enhancements for terminal emulation over a wide variety of terminal emulations.
The client-server presentation layer allows integration into any container environment that supports ActiveX controls, including: Visual Basic, Powerbuilder, Delphi, and Visual C++. It also includes API Interfaces, Multimedia support, scripting, mouse navigation, and imaging support. All standard Windows interface capabilities including toolbars, button bars, pull-down menus, radio buttons, message boxes, and third party control support are supported.
The browser based presentation layer allows integration via ActiveX control browser integration, Netscape Plug-In browser integration, Javascript, VBScript, Active Server Pages, and LiveConnect. RSA Security’s SSH support is built into Co*Star, insuring that a high level of security is integrated into any existing legacy application. Support is included for Blowfish and 3DES.
The Citrix MetaFrame and Windows Terminal Services presentation layers include complete integration into the license manager, allowing enterprises complete control over any legacy application, including: secure remote access via standard dialup, wireless, or traditional network solutions; central management of the legacy application – reducing IT support services; improve employee productivity and reduce training costs by centralizing system access for users; allow rapid application deployment; reduce time and risk during large integration projects – including complex system mergers typically seen as a result of a merger or acquisition; provide telecommuters secure access to mission critical legacy systems in a cost-effective manner.
Additional presentation layers support is continuously being developed, with an XML presentation layer currently under development.
Engineering Services
Clearview worked closely with one of their partner companies, on the PENTA project. Their personnel have been using the Co*Star product line since 1994, and have teams primed to work with Clearview clients to develop the best total solution that is available. Their partner has over 250 applications engineers, project managers, release engineers, and quality assurance engineers. Projects have included: enterprise application design and implementation, enterprise application integration, large-scale legacy migration projects, embedded systems development, United States Department of Defense projects, and help desk design and implementation. The development center is ISO and CMM (Capability Maturity Model) – and uses industry-accepted standards for project management and implementation work.
