Co*STAR for DOS
Co*STAR for DOS allows a program running under MS-DOS to
communicate with Co*STAR running under
MS Windows. The end-user is unaware that the program is actually
a native DOS program since all screen output appears in the display
under Windows. All the features of the product are available to
the DOS program -- such as font and color control, graphic linedraw,
mouse hotspots, copy and paste, API's, Visual Basic Interface, etc..
By integrating DOS and BIOS interrupt services, is able to receive
and transmit data between a DOS session and Windows. To , the data
is processed just as if it had been received from a connection to
a remote host. To the end-user, the DOS program will appear to be
a native Windows application.
For the developer, your DOS program now has full integration with
the Windows environment. You may use any of the API's to launch
programs, display images, create controls, etc.. Your application
can also take advantage of products such as Visual Basic, or any
environment that supports a OCX or DLL interface, to further window-ize
your application.
